Central Florida
Sportscasting has expanded its coverage of area high school sports by launching a new and improved website. www.CFSgametime.com was introduced on Monday, October 13 and is available for public access. The site features content from high school
sports such as basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, and football. The website also features
articles, team pages, polls, rosters, schedules, predictions, and much more. CFS Vice President Merv Forsythe had
a couple comments on the new site.
"We are extremely pleased with the layout
of the new website. Donnie (Paschal) has worked diligently on the content, and we hope that the players and fans are
satisfied."
"Our objective is to get more in-depth with
the coverage of high school sports in general, not just football. Right now the site has all football content, but we
will be covering Olympia basketball and Osceola wrestling in the winter, so the site will have plenty of content for those
sports, as well as baseball and softball in the spring." said Forsythe.
CFSfootball.com will remain up at least through this football season,
and the fate of the site will depend on how the fans respond to the new site according to CFS President Donnie Paschal.

Live Game Chat Now Available
In an
effort to allow more interaction between CFS broadcasters, fans, and supporters, CFS has integrated a chat
room that can be accessed in two ways. So that you don't have to stop listening to your favorite game, the chat
rooms have been embedded into the actual broadcast page. If you just want to chat, you can also enter the chat room
via the navigation bar on the left side of the CFSfootball.com page. All of the CFS broadcast crews will be in
the chat room so that you can update them on scores, stats, playoff scenarios, and other useful information. We at CFS
sincerely hope that you enjoy the implementation of the Live Game Chat as we continue to bring more exciting high school sports
action.
Friday's CFS Broadcasts Hindered by Rain
CFS had planned
to bring live coverage of two football games on Friday Night (10/10/08), but the Central Florida weather conditions had alternate
plans. Due to the heavy rains, the broadcast crews at Wekiva and Olympia had to cancel the audio broadcasts due to the
exposure of the electrical equipment. Neither school was granted a press box upon their construction (Wekiva 2007, Olympia
2001). CFS President Donnie Paschal had a few comments on Friday night's outcome.
"We are extremely disappointed about the
weather conditions tonight, but there is not much that anyone can do." Paschal said.
"Lamarr
Glenn (Wekiva Athletic Director) and Tom Curran (Olympia Athletic Director) were kind enough to allow our broadcasters
to have access to tonight's key district matchups, but we just couldn't defeat the course of nature."
CFS broadcaster Ryan Bonifant and his trusty cameramen
were able to capture highlights of the Olympia homecoming game, and even capture an interview with Chris Johnson, whose jersey
was retired moments before kickoff. Photographer Frank Rose was also able to take photos of the event, which will
be available as soon as possible on CFSfootball.com.
Weather permitting, CFS will be back at Olympia
high school next week for the rivalry game versus Dr. Phillips. CFS will also broadcast Osceola's game at home against
New Smyrna Beach. Stay tuned to CFSfootball.com for more prep football coverage.
Olympia to Retire Jersey of NFL Running
Back Chris Johnson
For the first
time in the school's young history, Olympia High School will retire the jersey number 5 of former Olympia Titan standout,
Chris Johnson. Johnson went from Olympia to play college ball at East Carolina where he impressed NFL scouts with his
blazing speed, and dazzling playmaking abilities. The Tennessee Titans selected
Johnson with their first pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. Currently Johnson is leading the Titans with 381 rushing yards,
which is also good enough to put in ninth in rushing among all NFL backs this season.
In addition to the jersey retirement, Olympia will also have homecoming ceremonies
beginning at 6:30pm EST, so come out for a great night of football. As always, the game will be broadcasting LIVE at
